A little bit behind the idea…
The Problem.
Tungsten Putty has always been the go to when counter balancing pop up rigs, however with its well know disadvantages, it’s less than ideal: Not sticky enough to stay in place, ugly to look at, crayfish love to remove it and it’s a ball-ache to add and remove in increments.
Some have turned to generic tungsten beads available on the market, however most of these are not built for purpose, with a central bore too small to easily thread on, or a central bore too big to stay in place; they can be equally as annoying to use as Tungsten Putty. Their size to weight ratios are also often very poor.
Our Objective:
To create an easy to apply, super heavy, super small and tidy bead that stays in place.
The Solution:
The aptly named Gemini ‘Tidy Bead’.
Easy To Apply & Stays In Place: The unique tapered bore starts with a diameter of 1.60mm, this allows the Tidy bead to pass easily onto the back end of a Tidy Boom or Tidy Rig. This diameter then tapers down to 1.26mm ensuring a snug fit onto the fused bond at the business end.
Super Heavy & Super Small: To achieve the best size to weight ratio possible we developed a unique tungsten polymer, ensuring the beads are as heavy as can be and as small as can be, whilst retaining a good level of elasticity to ensure a snug fit.
Each bead weighs an impressive 0.50g. Generally speaking is enough to weigh down most pop ups commonly used in the UK. But as always test in the margins before casting to be sure.
